4WE10 single-head solenoid reversing valve is a common hydraulic control element. It belongs to the wet solenoid reversing valve series. It is produced by German Rexroth and other manufacturers and is widely used in industrial hydraulic systems. Its core function is to control the flow direction of hydraulic oil through electromagnetic force to realize the reversal, start, stop or speed adjustment of actuators (such as hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors). The following is an analysis of its specific application scope and characteristics:

1. Core application areas

1. Engineering machinery

Application scenarios: hydraulic systems of excavators, loaders, rollers and other equipment.

Function: Control the expansion and contraction of the hydraulic cylinder (such as the lifting and lowering of the boom and bucket) to realize the reversing action of the working device.

Advantages: fast response speed (usually ≤ 50ms), strong anti-pollution ability, suitable for harsh working conditions.

2. Plastic machinery

Application scenarios: hydraulic systems of injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding machines.

Function: Controls the opening and closing of the mold, the action of the ejection mechanism, and the rotation direction of the hydraulic motor.

Advantages: High-precision control (repetitive positioning accuracy ≤0.01mm), supports high-frequency commutation (up to 20 times/second).

3. Metal processing equipment

Application scenarios: hydraulic systems of presses, bending machines, and shearing machines.

Function: Control the downward, pressure holding, return, and tightness of the clamping device.

Advantages: High pressure resistance (up to 350bar), suitable for large load conditions.

4. Automated production line

Application scenarios: hydraulic drive systems for robots, assembly lines, and conveying equipment.

Function: Controls the grabbing, rotation, movement of the robot, and the start and stop of the conveyor belt.

2. Typical application cases

1. Injection molding machine mold control

System composition: 4WE10 valve + hydraulic cylinder + pressure sensor.

Workflow:

The electromagnet is energized, and the hydraulic oil enters the rodless cavity of the hydraulic cylinder, pushing the mold to close.

During the pressure holding phase, the valve remains in the middle and the system is locked.

The electromagnet is powered off, the hydraulic oil flows back to the oil tank, and the mold is opened.

Effect: Achieve rapid and accurate opening and closing of the mold and improve injection molding efficiency.

2. Excavator boom control

System composition: 4WE10 valve + multi-channel valve + hydraulic cylinder.

Workflow:

The operating handle sends a signal, the solenoid is energized, and the hydraulic oil enters the boom hydraulic cylinder.

By adjusting the valve opening (proportional solenoid model), the boom lifting speed is controlled.

The solenoid is powered off, the valve returns to the middle position, and the boom stops.

Effect: Achieve smooth operation of the boom and avoid impact.

3. Automated assembly line

System composition: 4WE10 valve + cylinder + sensor + PLC.

Workflow:

The PLC sends a signal, the solenoid is energized, and the cylinder pushes the workpiece to the assembly position.

After the sensor is detected, the PLC controls the other solenoid to be energized and the cylinder returns.

Cyclic execution to achieve automated assembly.

Effect: Improve assembly accuracy and efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

3. Technical characteristics and advantages

High reliability:

Wet electromagnet design, the coil is immersed in hydraulic oil, has good heat dissipation and a long life (can reach more than 10 million times).

The valve core adopts a tapered seal, with a small leakage (≤0.1cm³/min).

Flexible control:

Supports two forms: single electronic control (spring return) or double electronic control (hold function).

Manual emergency operation device can be optionally equipped to ensure the safety of equipment when power is cut off.

Strong compatibility:

The interface size complies with ISO 4401 standard and can be directly replaced with valves of the same specifications of other brands.

Supports multiple voltages (such as DC24V, AC110V, AC220V) to adapt to different power supply environments.

Easy to maintain:

Modular design, valve cores and solenoids can be replaced separately, reducing maintenance costs.

Built-in filter can filter impurities of ≥10μm and reduce system contamination.

4. Precautions for selection

Flow rate and pressure matching:

Select the valve diameter according to the system flow rate (such as 4WE10E3X/EG24N9K4, the diameter is 10mm).

Confirm whether the rated pressure of the valve (such as 315bar) meets the system requirements.

Installation method:

Plate installation: suitable for integrated valve sets, saving space.

Tube installation: suitable for dispersed layout and easy maintenance.

Environmental adaptability:

Explosion-proof electromagnets (such as ExmIIT4) should be selected for explosion-proof occasions.

High temperature resistant coils (such as F-level insulation) are required for high-temperature environments.

Control method:

Normal switch control: suitable for simple commutation requirements.

Proportional control: It is necessary to use proportional electromagnets (such as 4WE10Y3X/) to achieve continuous flow adjustment.
